OUR STORY

Wicked Strong was born from a bit of Maine ingenuity — and a happy accident.

From Biodiesel to a Better Clean

Wicked Strong was born from a bit of Maine ingenuity—and a happy accident. While producing renewable biodiesel fuel in Portland, Maine, our sister company, Maine Standard Biofuels, noticed something interesting. A natural by-product of the process, glycerin, had incredible cleaning power.

After one spill (and an unexpectedly spotless floor), the team realized that this upcycled material cut through grease and grime as well—or better—than the harsh chemical cleaners found on most shelves. That discovery sparked an idea: instead of throwing this by-product away, why not put it to good use?

Through testing, refining, and blending with safe, all-natural ingredients, Wicked Strong was created: a line of non-toxic, Maine-made cleaners that are as effective as they are environmentally responsible.

OUR MISSION

At Wicked Strong, our mission is simple:

  • Turn waste into worth. By upcycling biodiesel by-products, we reduce waste and give new life to materials that would otherwise be discarded.

  • Protect people and the planet. Our cleaners are non-toxic, biodegradable, and free from harmful additives—safe to use at home, in restaurants, and everywhere in between.

  • Celebrate Maine ingenuity. We’re proud to create sustainable solutions right here in Maine, supporting local jobs and strengthening our community.

WHY WICKED STRONG?

We chose the name “Wicked Strong” because it reflects both our roots and our results. In Maine, “wicked” is more than just slang — it means something powerful, authentic, and undeniably good. Our products are exactly that: wicked tough on dirt and grease, yet safe for people, pets, and the planet.

A Cleaner Future

Choosing Wicked Strong means choosing a cleaner kitchen, a cleaner planet, and a cleaner future. It’s proof that sustainability and strength don’t have to be at odds — that the toughest solutions can also be the most responsible. From our home in Maine to yours, thanks for being part of this wicked good journey.
